This is my tribute to the supporting actors who make the films I love such a joy to watch. Supporting actors who are too often forgotten. What-sis-name. Who-was-that? So-and-so. Perhaps I am wrong, but it seems to me that the films of the 30s, 40s and 50s had a richer seam of talented character actors to draw from, than films do today. Actors who would appear regularly for one director or one studio. Actors who may always appear in one type of role. But actors who when they did appear even ever so briefly, added depth and pleasure to the experience.

I won't pretend to be an expert on their films or their lives. In many cases, I probably only know two or three of the films they made. I will aim to provide links and where possible clips.
